A favourite for those wishing to stay within easy walking distance to the beach and many tavernas in Almyrida, Irinis’s Villa is a very well equipped one bedroom villa that is sited on the north-west side of the pool in the small and exclusive Olive Grove. The Olive Grove villas are situated Roman style around the large shared swimming pool, which in turn leads to the gravelled off-road parking area. At the entrance to the property there is a large date palm, roses and bougainvillea and dotted around the pool there are a number of plants in traditional clay pots. Situated only 4 minutes flat walk from the sandy beach and excellent tavernas and shops in the village of Almyrida, this villa can be either rented on its own, or for larger groups and families it can be combined with one of the other lovely villas in the complex. There are three different outdoor areas at Irini’s Villa with a choice of sun or natural shade. The front terrace is adjacent to the swimming pool and is equipped with a dining table and 4 chairs and sun-beds. There is a raised flowerbed on one side of the front terrace which is planted with cacti, geraniums and aloe vera. This front terrace has sun until 4.00 pm and is ideal for breakfast and lunch. The west side terrace is situated next to an olive grove, has views to the mountains and is ideal for evening dining and relaxation. It is also equipped with a table and chairs, sun-beds and umbrellas and it has a flower bed with a fig tree and colourful geraniums. Leading up from the west side terrace is an outside staircase which takes you up to a private 50m2 fully tiled roof terrace which is equipped with sun-beds and is the perfect spot for sunbathing. There are beautiful views to the olive clad hills which surround Almyrida, the village itself and the stunning White Mountains. Throughout Irini’s Villa there is comfortable furniture that has been made locally from a warm coloured wood. The villa’s windows, shutters, doors, pergolas and kitchen cabinets have been made to match. The English owners have carefully colour co-ordinated the furnishings throughout using yellow, blue and burgundy in order to give the villa a lovely summery feel. The shower room has been fully tiled using the traditional Greek colours of blue and white and there is a window made out of frosted glass bricks. Many modern comforts have been provided for at Irini’s Villa including satellite TV, DVD/CD player, a washing machine, a microwave, a safe, a telephone for incoming calls, air conditioning throughout. For the cooler nights at the start and end of the season there is an electric oil-filled radiator. Irini’s Villa offers spacious, very comfortable, and well equipped holiday accommodation in a quiet location within easy walking distance of the beach, shops and tavernas in Almyrida. LocationThe heart of the village of Almyrida is only 300m from Irini’s Villa and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are 4 excellent tavernas, 9 café/bars, 2 bakeries, a wonderful jewellery shop, 5 mini-markets, 3 gift shops, and an off-license. Also in Almyrida there is a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfing boards and catamarans and the Villas Crete Holidays Tourist office that is owned and run by Frankie Miles. A few minutes by car from Irini’s House, there are a huge variety of archaeological sites and traditional villages with wonderful tavernas. There is also an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio, lace makers in Gavalohori, and silk makers in Kalamitsi. For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 35 minutes away by car. Villa amenities

F.A.QAny steps? How many? 2 steps from the villa to the pool terrace, 1 step from the parking area to the pool terrace, 18 steps to the roof terrace. How private? Not completely private as the villa is located in the village and is part of a small complex but no one overlooks the west terrace. Nearest neighbour? The 4 other small villas in the same complex. Almyrida beach and facilities are within easy walking distance, and there is a limited bus service into Chania, but we recommend car hire in order to explore the varied regions of the area. |
