Shared swimming pool with 4 other small villas (Oval 10m x 5m & depth 1.60m) The exceedingly popular Perry’s House will appeal to those who want a quiet and countrified location that is in easy walking distance to Almyrida with its sandy beach and varied selection of tavernas and shops. Perry’s House has been built to combine traditional Cretan charm with every modern comfort that you could possibly need. It opens out to 3 terraces for both sun and shade, and a large swimming pool that is shared with the 4 other villas at the exclusive Olive Grove. The Olive Grove villas are situated Roman style around the large swimming pool, which in turn leads to the spacious gravelled off-road parking area. At the entrance to the property there is a large date palm, roses and bougainvillea, and dotted around the pool and main terraces there are a number of plants in traditional clay pots. Despite its close proximity to the beach and village centre, Perry’s House has a very rural feel. The semi covered front terrace is equipped with a dining table, 4 chairs, an umbrella and a barbeque. The natural wood pergola is covered with mature fuchsia bougainvillea, and sweet scented jasmine that fills the warm summer nights with its delicious aroma. Both the front and side terraces have low natural stone walls and flower beds which are filled with a variety of plants and trees including fig, apricot, pomegranate, oleander, aloe vera, geraniums, and hottentot fig creeper. The side terrace faces east and is ideal for early morning sun. It is equipped with wicker style armchairs with cream cushions. An outside staircase takes you up to a private 50m2 fully tiled roof terrace which is equipped with a table and chairs, sun-beds, an umbrella, and a 2 seat bamboo sofa with pretty floral cushions. The roof terrace has beautiful views to the olive clad hills which surround Almyrida , the village itself, and the stunning White Mountains, and is the perfect spot for sunbathing. Perry’s House has been carefully decorated by its English owners to ensure a cool summery ambience throughout the villa. The bedroom furniture has been handmade at the workshop of a local craftsman and has been stained pretty pastel blue and grey colours. The living room has an incredibly comfortable suedette sofa for total relaxation. The villa’s windows, shutters, doors, pergolas have been made from local cypress wood in the traditional Cretan style. Many modern comforts have been provided for at Perry’s House including light beech wood built-in wardrobes and kitchen cabinets, satellite TV, DVD/CD player, a VCR, a cooker with ceramic hob, a washing machine, a microwave, a safe, a telephone for incoming calls, air conditioning throughout. For the cooler nights at the start and end of the season the a/c unit also double up as a heater. There is solar powered hot water or a back-up immersion heater, and a parking area set just off the small road at the front of the property. Perry’s House is a must for those seeking excellent value, and well equipped holiday accommodation in a particularly well appointed location. This villa can be either rented on its own, or for larger groups and families it can be combined with one of the other lovely villas in the Olive Grove. Accommodation. Ground floor (2 steps from the pool terrace): Open plan living room, kitchen and dining area, 1 twin or double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 2 shower rooms, a utility cupboard, a front south facing terrace, and an east facing side terrace. The arch shaped front door leads off the front terrace into the living room area. There is a very comfortable dark brown couch with lime green cushions, a coffee table, 2 side tables, a table lamp, a standard lamp, 2 wicker armchairs with cream cushions (these can be used outside), a TV/DVD/VCR cabinet that doubles up as a bookcase, a ceiling fan/light, and a dining table and chairs which seat 4. There are 2 sets of double doors that open out onto the 2 downstairs terraces. The east facing terrace is equipped with arm chairs and is ideal for early morning sun. The south facing front terrace is fully equipped for dining. There is a utility cupboard next to the front door that houses the washing machine, iron and ironing board, and cleaning equipment. The modern kitchen area is fully equipped and includes an electric cooker with a ceramic hob, a fridge/freezer, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a kettle, and a toaster. The kitchen window faces west and looks out over the pool terrace. An archway leads from the living room to the hallway which has the doors to both bedrooms and the 2 shower rooms. The 2 fully tiled shower rooms are immediately adjacent to each of the bedrooms, and are both equipped with a shower with a massage head, a white washbasin, a mirrored cabinet, a toilet, and a window. The double bedroom has a 2 pastel grey twin beds that can be zipped together to make a double bed, pastel blue and yellow floral bedspreads, 2 overhead reading lamps, 2 matching bedside cabinets with 1 bedside lamp and a telephone, a mirror with a gilt frame, and floor to ceiling built-in wardrobes with hanging space, drawers and shelves. The double bedroom has a set of double doors leading out onto the east side terrace. The twin bedroom has 2 pretty aqua twin beds with overhead 2 reading lamps, charming pale blue, green and white patchwork bedspreads, 2 matching bedside cabinets, a mirror with a white lattice work frame, and floor to ceiling built-in wardrobes with hanging space, drawers, shelves, a safe and a first aid kit. The twin bedroom has a double window that faces west and looks out onto the pool terrace. Roof/Sun Terrace (18 steps up from the front terrace): Fully tiled with sun-beds, table and chairs, and a wicker 2 seat couch with cushions. LocationThe heart of the village of Almyrida is only 300m from Perry’s House, and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are 4 excellent tavernas, 9 café/bars, 2 bakeries, a wonderful jewellery shop, 5 mini-markets, 3 gift shops, and an off-license. Also in Almyrida there is a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans, and the Villas Crete Holidays Tourist office that is owned and run by Frankie Miles. A few minutes by car from Perry’s House, there are a huge variety of archaeological sites and traditional villages with wonderful tavernas. There is also an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio , lace makers in Gavalohori , and silk makers in Kalamitsi . For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 35 minutes away by car. Villa amenities

Not completely private as the villa is located in the village and is part of a small complex. Nearest neighbour? The 4 other small villas in the same complex. Almyrida beach and facilities are within easy walking distance, and there is a limited bus service into Chania , but we recommend car hire in order to explore the varied regions of the area. |
