The apartment enjoys peace and quiet in lovely countrified surroundings with views to olive groves, the village, tree clad hills and The White Mountains. To the front of the property there is a common area with a generous 80m2 swimming pool (including 2 separate shallow areas that are perfect for children or less confident swimmers), a built-in barbeque, a grassy lawn, a picnic bench and a children’s play area which includes 2 swings, a see-saw, and 2 slides. The well kept lawn and the playground are ideal for keeping the younger members of the family entertained whilst their parents keep a watchful eye on them when relaxing on the sun-loungers beside the pool. With the prime upstairs position on the southerly end of the small Almyrida Village complex, Theo’s House has a number of furnished sitting out areas with a choice of sun or shade. There are 2 front balconies which face east and south and overlook the pool and nearby olive groves, and 2 rear balconies that lead out from the bedrooms. The apartment has a light and airy feel which has been enhanced by the tasteful furnishings which are all made from light coloured pine or beech wood in order to match the many kitchen cabinets and floor to ceiling built-in bedroom wardrobes. The two comfortable Mediterranean Blue couches in the living room both fold out to become double beds for extra guests to sleep on. The spacious kitchen and dining area includes a stainless steel electric hob and built-in oven, a large fridge/freezer, a washing machine, a microwave, a toaster, a coffee maker, and a kettle. Many other modern comforts have been provided for including aluminium windows, doors, and shutters, mosquito screens, a safe, a TV and DVD player, a hairdryer, and air conditioning throughout. For the cooler nights at the start and end of the season the a/c units also double up as a heater. The Almyrida Village Apartments are situated just off a very small and quiet side road and opposite a large olive grove. The property is surrounded by low stone walls that are made from local cream coloured stone, and topped with dark wood trellis style fencing. The very big pool is surrounded by cream tiles and flagstone paving and is furnished with sun-beds and umbrellas. The pool terrace is bordered by large areas of grass and the property has a number of flowerbeds that have been planted with Washingtonian palms, rose bushes, and 2 mature olive trees. A small ramp leads onto the garden and pool area from the ample parking area that is adjacent to the small side road at the front of the property. We highly recommend Theo’s House to those seeking good value accommodation that has an excellent standard of comfort and the beach, shops and tavernas close to hand. Accommodation. LocationThe heart of the village of Almyrida is only 250m from Theo’s House, and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are 4 excellent tavernas, 10 café/bars, 2 bakeries, a wonderful jewellery shop, 5 mini-markets, 3 gift shops, and an off-license. Also in Almyrida there is a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans, and the Villas Crete Holidays Tourist office that is owned and run by Frankie Miles. A few minutes by car from Theo’s Apartment, there are a huge variety of archaeological sites and traditional villages with wonderful tavernas. There is also an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio, lace makers in Gavalohori, and silk makers in Kalamitsi. For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 30 minutes away by car. Villa amenities
