1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom. Sleeps a maximum of 6 persons. Shared swimming pool (10m x 3m in the adult section + 3m x2m in the children’s section & depths 1.60m in the adult section, 0.55m in the baby section). As its name suggests, Panorama House is set on the top of a hill and enjoys absolutely stunning uninterrupted views to the north over the village, beaches and small fishing harbour of Almyrida to Souda Bay, Karga Isle and the Akrotiri Peninusla. The panoramic 360 degree views from the very large and private sun terrace and upstairs living area also incorporate The White Mountains, olive covered rolling hills, the Turkish fort at Aptera, and a number of quaint villages. A favourite for those wanting to stay just above the beach, Panorama House is just a 5 minute walk along a quiet track to the waterfront in the village, which is lined with number of excellent tavernas, cafes and shops. There are many wonderful trails leading from the villa that will keep the walkers amongst you very happy. Panorama House is set above 5 other terraced villas/townhouses on this sloping hillside (many of which are holiday homes), with only one connecting wall from the downstairs bathroom and twin bedroom with the nearest neighbour. This elevated position at the top end of the terrace allows for peace and privacy. The shared pool is positioned on the middle terrace and has a separate shallow section that is perfect for children or non-swimmers. The upstairs living room leads out onto the private sun terrace which is equipped with a large BBQ, sun-beds, umbrellas and a table and chairs for delightful al-fresco dining whilst taking in the fabulous views. The sun terrace is not overlooked and is covered on the west side, and has a pergola just outside the living room, giving a choice of sun or shade. This villa has been thoughtfully designed so that the living area has prime position on the top floor of the villa and therefore benefits from the marvellous views, and the bedrooms are on the ground level, which helps to keep them cooler during the long hot summer months. Panorama House is newly built and finished to a very high standard to ensure a relaxing holiday. In order to make your stay completely worry free, the villa is fully air conditioned throughout and with white aluminium window frames, shutters and doors, and mosquito screens. The a/c units also double up as heaters for the cooler nights early and late season. Every modern comfort has been thought of including; natural wood kitchen cabinets, marble effect kitchen worktops, a ceramic hob and built-in oven, a microwave oven, a washing machine, a TV, a DVD player, a CD player/radio, a hairdryer, fully tiled modern bathrooms, and large built-in wardrobes in the bedrooms. There is plenty of parking on the track just outside the front door. This private track ends at Panorama House which is surrounded by olive groves. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom (which do not share connecting walls) plus additional sleeping for 2 persons on the sofa bed in the upstairs living room. We highly recommend Panorama House for its unique and peaceful countrified position high above the sea with gorgeous panoramic views of the entire area, and yet within easy walking distance to the beach, shops and tavernas in Almyrida . Accommodation. Top floor: (17 steps up from the ground floor): Open plan living room, kitchen and dining area, 1 shower room, a large part covered / part open sun terrace with fabulous views and a barbeque. The living room has a wide door that opens out onto the spacious sun terrace which has a pergola over the door. The sun terrace has spectacular views and is equipped with a dining table and chairs for 6, sun-beds, umbrellas and a large brick barbeque. The open plan living/dining area has a comfortable chocolate coloured couch that folds out into a sofa bed for 2 persons, a dark brown wicker work 2 seater couch with cream cushions, 2 matching arm chairs, a matching wicker work and glass top coffee table, a TV, a DVD player, a dark brown wood dining table and chairs. The modern kitchen area is fully equipped a ceramic hob, a built-in oven, a cooker hood, a large fridge/freezer, a microwave oven, a washing machine, a toaster, a coffee maker and a kettle. The living/kitchen is very light and area due to the many windows looking in 3 directions to the sea, the mountains and the olive grove covered hills. At the top of the stairs just before the living area there is a shower room with 2-tone mint green tiles, a shower unit, a white washbasin with a white vanity unit below, a mirror, a toilet, and a window with a view to the mountains. Ground floor (2 steps from the parking area): 1 double bedroom, 1 full bathroom, and 1 twin bedroom. There is a door off the hallway (opposite the twin bedroom) that leads to the doors to the full bathroom and the double bedroom. If you choose to close this door, this becomes a private double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The double bedroom has is equipped with matching light wood modern furniture. There is a double bed, 2 bedside cabinets with reading lamps, and a very spacious built-in wardrobe with sliding doors with frosted glass and white Perspex sections, drawers, shelves and hanging space. There is a double window that looks out over a small terrace to olive groves. The bathroom has 2-tone mint green tiles, a bath with a shower attachment, a white washbasin with a dark brown wood vanity unit below, a mirror, a toilet, and a large frosted window. Across the hall way is the twin bedroom which is furnished with the same matching modern furniture as the double bedroom. There are 2 single beds, 2 bedside cabinets, and a very large built-in wardrobe with hanging space, drawers, shelves and room for suitcases. The window from the twin bedroom looks out over olive groves to the White Mountains and rolling green hills. The Pool Terrace (2 sets of 14 steps from the parking area). The shared tiled pool has a 10m x 3m adult area and a separate 3m x 2m shallow children area. The pool has an infinity edge (with railings) that looks out to the sea. It is fully tiled and has a dark blue wave motif around the top edge. The shared pool terrace also enjoys sea views and has terracotta tiles LocationThe centre of the village of Almyrida is only 350m from Panorama House, and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are 4 excellent tavernas, 9 café/bars, 2 bakeries, a wonderful jewellery shop, 5 mini-markets, 3 gift shops, 1 clothes shop, an off-license, and the K-Travel Tourist Office. Also in Almyrida there is a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans. For a change of pace, a 20 minute walk uphill (or 15 minutes downhill!) will take you to the main square in the neighbouring village of Plaka . There are lovely shady mulberry trees under which the locals sit to watch the world go by whilst enjoying a delicious meal or even just an ice cold frappe. Plaka was one of the original village sets for the film “Zorba the Greek” and it still has quaint whitewashed houses and narrow streets leading off from the square. A few minutes by car from Panorama House, there are a huge variety of archaeological sites and traditional villages with wonderful tavernas. There is also an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio, lace makers in Gavalohori , and silk makers in Kalamitsi . For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 30 minutes away by car. Villa amenities

How many? 2 steps from the parking area into the villa, 17 steps from the ground floor to the first floor, 1 step from the upstairs living area onto the large sun terrace and BBQ area. There are 2 sets of 14 steps from the villa to the shared pool terrace. How private? The villa and upstairs sun terrace and BBQ area are completely private as they are set above the rest of the property. The pool area is shared with 5 other neighboring maisonettes/villas – many of which are holiday homes and not in use very often. Nearest neighbour? Panorama House is the on the top level at the end of a few tiered maisonettes. The next door neighbour is set below, and lower than Panorama House, sharing 1 downstairs wall. Almyrida beach and facilities are within easy walking distance, and there is a limited bus service into Chania , but we recommend car hire in order to explore the varied regions of the area. |
