From its magnificent position on a hillside close to the sea Almyrida Panorama Villa can lay claim to the most spectacular, panoramic views. With an outlook that takes in a sweeping stretch of coastline and countryside that includes Souda Bay, Almyrida, Akrotiri Peninsula, an 18th Century Turkish Fort, and the impressive White Mountains, seaside locations do not come any finer than this. As if the superlative views were not enough, Almyrida Panorama Villa is easily one of the most stylish and comfortable homes that we have in our portfolio of exquisite properties and is just a stone’s throw from the beach at Kera, and a leisurely 10-minute stroll to the tavernas, shops, sandy beaches, and excellent amenities in the delightful family friendly village of Almyrida.

We cannot praise highly enough this villa of distinction and class, which is superbly appointed, tastefully decorated, and imaginatively designed both inside and out. Every aspect of this enviably located luxury villa inspires effortless relaxation. The clever design seamlessly brings the living area outdoors by way of areas of natural grey stone wall within the villa, and vast expanses of floor to ceiling glass that perfectly frame the picture postcard views. Benefitting from stylish Norwegian owners with an unstinting dedication to quality and beauty, you can be assured that you will have the best holiday possible at Almyrida Panorama Villa. In particular, newly-weds need look no further because the “Santorini” master bedroom suite, with its seductive king-size bed which has endless views of the shimmering Aegean Sea, is the idyllic love nest for the honeymoon of your dreams. With none of the bedrooms sharing a connecting wall, individual privacy is ensured, and all are named after a different Greek island.

No expense has been spared to ensure that this superb home is welcoming and meticulously kitted out with comfortable contemporary furnishings, and every modern facility that you would need. All the appliances are of a very high standard, there is is free unlimited WIFI internet access, and central air conditioning with individual room controls throughout. There is a beautiful, fully equipped kitchens, fully tiled shower rooms, an office corner with a desk, a washing machine, dishwashers, a smart TV, Bluetooth speakers, as well as many thoughtful extras such as hairdryers, a rowing machine, books, playing cards, board games, a telescope, and binoculars.

The interiors of the villa are impressive to say the least, and they melt seamlessly into the outside areas where our guests tend to spend most of their holiday time chilling out., and where equal attention to detail has been paid. Every bedroom, the living room, and the kitchen have doors which open out to a multitude of different terraces, with a choice of sun or shade, affording privacy to individual guests from groups and large families who like to holiday together whilst still enjoying some alone time.

Perched dramatically over the terraced garden, along the entire front of the villa and beyond, at slightly different levels, are the pool, the summer kitchen and dining area, and the lounging terrace, all of which are blessed with breath-taking scenery (to which the accompanying photos cannot possibly do justice) and dramatic, incandescent sunsets, thanks to the villa’s westerly aspect. In addition, the coastal location means that the entire property often benefits from the welcome cooling breezes that come off the sea in the long, hot, summer months.

The lounging area is furnished with couches and armchairs with plump cushions that offer the perfect setting in which to read a good book or sit back and enjoy a cool drink and the incomparable vistas. Vying for attention is the very inviting, gorgeous infinity pool, which is uniquely wave shaped, much longer than average at 13m, and unusually for Crete, can be heated during the low and mid seasons for an extra fee. Shaded by a local stone and cypress wood pergola topped with sail material, are the summer kitchen and dining area which have a long table and chairs, a ceramic hob, a barbeque, a bread/pizza oven, a dishwasher, a drinks fridge and a food fridge, work surfaces, many cupboards, and a built-in raised flowerbed with a variety of herbs including basil, mint, parsley, and thyme. This is surely where many fun and delicious al-fresco family meals made with fresh local produce will be grilled against the backdrop of the azure sea in the day, or under enchanting nighttime lighting and the crystal-clear star-filled sky.

Landscaped to follow the natural contours of the land, the 4000m2 garden includes an olive grove with 90 olives trees, an orange tree, grapevines, fig, hibiscus, roses, canna lily, purple flowering polygala, decorative grasses, yucca, and other typically Mediterranean flora. Wildflowers are abundant in the Spring, and an arched trellis tunnel covered with stunning wisteria vines leads to a small gate which gives you easy access on foot to the closest café/minimarket just 100m away (though not visible from the villa). Immediately around the villa are walls made from local stone, elegant cypress trees, a lemon tree next to the kitchen, and raised flowerbeds planted with birds of paradise and lantana (often called the butterfly bush because of the number of butterflies it attracts).

Almyrida Panorama Villa is undoubtedly a superb home of special character for the uncompromising traveller who is seeking a relaxing coastal holiday with glorious views, within walking distance of excellent tavernas and amenities. We are sure that you will agree that retreats in the sun do not come more appealing than at Almyrida Panorama Villa.

Villa Location

The beach at Kera is only 500 metres from the Almyrida Panorama Villa. It is a quieter beach with just a small kantina for food. The water is shallow and there is a choice of pebbles or sand. The lovely village of Almyrida is only an 800m walk from the villa and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are many excellent tavernas, cafes and shops. Also in Almyrida there is a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers, catamarans, pedaloes, and paddle boards, whilst we at Villas Crete Holidays will give you the contact details for many activity providers including those for: private boat hire, private boat trips, private sight-seeing flights, horse riding, big game fishing, guided walking, and guided coach excursions. The village of Kalives is 3km away and has long been a popular destination for holiday makers seeking a typically Greek seaside resort that has many amenities but is far removed from brash tourism. Kalives stretches along 4 kilometres of sandy beaches, and the narrow main street is lined with old, whitewashed houses. Two rivers run join the sea at Kalives, and there is a traditional fishing boat harbour at the eastern end of the village which has boat rentals. There is an abundance of good tavernas and cafes lining the seafront, and there are shops of every description. A few minutes by car from the villa, there are many archaeological sites, an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, and a variety of traditional villages with wonderful tavernas. For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 30 minutes away by car.

Villa Rental Prices

The following introductory prices are shown EUROS, per WEEK, are for the Villa with a maximum of 10 persons.

These prices include a Free Welcome Pack, bed linen and towels, once weekly cleaning, a villa information book, and a villa copy of the essential guide book "Crete on the Road" by Frankie Miles.

*** As of January 01, 2024, the Greek government have replaced the old “bed tax” with a new tax that is applied to all stays in short-term rental accommodation in Greece. The Climate Resilience Levy is a response to the devastating forest fires and floods that Greece has experienced in recent years, with the government hoping to generate extra funding that will go towards financing reconstruction, supporting victims, and increasing the country’s defences against future natural disasters.

The owners of all short-term rental accommodation are legally obliged to collect the Climate Resilience Levy as a separate tax for all overnight stays (per villa) as follows:
€10.00 per night on stays between March 01 and October 31, and €4.00 per night on stays between November 01 and February 28/29.

We will collect the Climate Levy with your final balance payment and it will be clearly itemised on your Booking Confirmation.

Whilst we understand the potential budget concerns of our guests, this tax/levy is beyond our control and we encourage our guests to see this as a way of contributing to the protection of the planet and the beautiful area where they are holidaying.
